EconlabGalicia in Eco Magazine

The Eco-Revista do Eixo Atlántico, in its July issue, features our work at EconLAB (USC) on the economic impact of Mercadona in Galicia.

This study, carried out in collaboration with the Valencian Institute of Economic Research (IVIE), provides a rigorous estimate of the company’s contribution to the Galician economy throughout 2024. The analysis includes both aggregate data and sectoral information, allowing us to measure its weight in key variables such as employment, production, and value added.

For EconLAB, having this project publicly disseminated is essential: it represents an opportunity to bring university research closer to society, showing how economic analysis can contribute to a deeper understanding of the productive fabric and to more informed decision-making.
