EconLabGalicia collaborates with IVIE in the analysis of Mercadona’s economic impact in Galicia

EconLabGalicia, a research unit of the University of Santiago de Compostela, is collaborating with the Valencian Institute of Economic Research (IVIE) on a technical study of the economic impact of Mercadona’s activity in Galicia throughout 2024.
The project, currently underway and funded by Mercadona, aims to provide a rigorous estimate of the company’s contribution to the Galician economy.
Within this framework, the analysis will offer both aggregate and sector-specific information on key economic indicators, providing a comprehensive view of the company’s presence in the region.
Through this collaboration, EconLabGalicia reinforces its commitment to applied economic analysis and territorial development, putting knowledge at the service of evidence-based decision-making.
