The Rector of the University of Santiago de Compostela, Antonio López, and the Regional Conselleiro of Employment, Trade, and Emigration, José González, signed a collaboration agreement this Tuesday to promote studies assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of active employment and training policies implemented by the Government of Galicia.

The agreement, structured through EconLab Galicia, aims to provide a rigorous methodological framework for evaluating initiatives in active employment and training policies. The applied research carried out by this public policy laboratory will measure their real impact to improve their design and adapt them to the needs of the labor market and Galician society.

The innovative methodology proposed by EconLabGalicia includes designing the methodological framework, selecting the most appropriate tools, creating evaluation and monitoring indicators, and fostering technical debate on employability. This approach will contribute to informed decision-making in public policy, promoting a culture of knowledge transfer and social participation.

During the signing, the Rector of the University of Santiago de Compostela, Antonio López, emphasized the importance of relying on specialized professionals and generating analytical tools that enable the assessment of employment policies' impact. Meanwhile, the Regional Conselleiro of Employment, Trade, and Emigration, José González, described the agreement as "a fundamental step" toward an "independent, autonomous, and rigorous" oversight of employability measures in Galicia.
